Privacy Policy

From Manuscript to Market is run by Yvette Farkas. This policy explains what is collected, why, and what happens to it.

1. What is collected

• Your name and email address, when you sign up for the free masterclass or the Book Architecture Starter Kit.
• Your email address, entered once inside the course so your lesson progress follows you between devices. It is how the course tells one student from another.
• Your course progress — which lessons you have marked complete, and when.
• Payment confirmation — your name, email, the amount, the date and the PayPal transaction reference. Card and bank details are handled entirely by PayPal and are never seen or stored here.
• Anything you send by email, when you write in with a question.

2. What is not collected

No card numbers, no bank details, no manuscripts. Your writing stays on your own computer — the workbooks are files you download and fill in privately. Nothing you type into them is sent anywhere.

The Goal Tracker inside the course saves your word counts in your own browser only. Those entries are not transmitted or stored on the server.

3. Why it is collected

To deliver what you asked for: send the masterclass and the Starter Kit, give you access to the course, keep your progress in step across your devices, answer your questions, and keep the records needed to run the business and meet its legal obligations.

4. Who can see it

Yvette Farkas, and nobody else. It is not sold, rented or traded, ever.

5. Services used

A small number of outside services are needed to run this site and deliver the course:

• PayPal — takes payment and holds the payment details.
• ALL-INKL — hosts the website, the course files and the progress database, on servers in Germany.
• An email provider — delivers the masterclass, the Starter Kit and the course emails.
• YouTube — hosts unlisted backup copies of the videos, used only if a video will not play from this site. When a backup plays, YouTube may set its own cookies.

Each of these handles your information under its own privacy policy.

6. Cookies and local storage

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party advertising pixels. It uses:

• A cookie holding the email address you entered in the course, so your progress can be matched to you.
• Your browser's local storage, to remember your completed lessons and your Goal Tracker entries on that device.

Clearing your browser data removes both. Your lesson progress is also kept on the server against the email you entered, so it returns the next time you sign in. Goal Tracker entries live only on that device and cannot be recovered once cleared.

7. How long it is kept

Sign-up and purchase records are kept for as long as needed to give you access and to meet record-keeping obligations. Progress data is kept while your account is active. Ask for it to be deleted and it will be.

8. Your choices

You can ask at any time to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Every email sent to you carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your course access.

9. Security

The site runs over HTTPS. The course area is password-protected and the lead and progress files are blocked from public access. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are taken to protect your information, although no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Children

This course is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and information is not knowingly collected from anyone under sixteen.

11. Where this business is based, and where your information goes

From Manuscript to Market is operated by Yvette Farkas, an individual resident in Altos, Paraguay. The business is established in Paraguay.

Your information is processed in more than one country. The website, the course files and the progress database are hosted by ALL-INKL on servers in Germany. PayPal, the email provider and YouTube each process data in the countries they operate from; those locations are outside our control and are set out in their own privacy policies.

Your information is therefore likely to be processed outside the country you live in. By using the site you agree to it being handled this way.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
